{"id":942,"date":"2012-10-27T19:21:00","date_gmt":"2012-10-27T23:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.harveyslakefire-amb.org\/?p=942"},"modified":"2012-11-27T12:06:03","modified_gmt":"2012-11-27T17:06:03","slug":"are-you-ready-for-hurricane-sandy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.harveyslakefire-amb.com\/?p=942","title":{"rendered":"Are You Ready for Hurricane Sandy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Red Cross advises the following:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Being prepared means being equipped with the proper supplies you may need in the event of an emergency. \u00a0Keep your supplies in an easy-to-carry emergency preparedness kit that you can use at home or take with you in case you must evacuate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>At a minimum, you should have the basic supplies listed below:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Water &#8211; one gallon per person, per day (3-day supply for evacuation, 2-week supply for home)<\/li>\n<li>Food &#8211; non-perishable, easy-to-prepare items (3-day supply for evacuation, 2-week supply for home)<\/li>\n<li>Flashlight<\/li>\n<li>Battery-powered or hand-crank radio (NOAA Weather Radio, if possible)<\/li>\n<li>Extra batteries<\/li>\n<li>First aid kit<\/li>\n<li>Medications (7-day supply) and medical items<\/li>\n<li>Copies of personal documents (medication list and pertinent medical information, proof of address, deed\/lease to home, passports, birth certificates, insurance policies)<\/li>\n<li>Cell phone with chargers<\/li>\n<li>Family and emergency contact information<\/li>\n<li>Extra cash<\/li>\n<li>Emergency blanket<\/li>\n<li>Map(s) of the area<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<section>\n<header>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Consider the needs of all family members and add supplies to your kit.
