Harveys Lake Police has been in contact with PA Boat & Fish Commission.  At this time due to the water level and debri in the water, boat traffic is being restricted to a NO WAKE ZONE for the entire lake.  This is to prevent damage to boat houses and docks from the waves created, as well as damage to boats underway by debri.
At this time it is unknown how long this restriction will be in place.

Now that the warm weather is here, and activities around the lake are picking up, we want to remind everyone to be safe.  Here are a few safety tips.

• Swimming
  • Parents, don’t leave young children unsupervised near the water
  • Do a thorough check of all flotation devices
  • Do a thorough check of your dock for any cracked decking, nails sticking out, rotting wood, and any other safety hazards
• Boaters
  • Do a complete check of your boat for any faulty equipment, cracks/holes in the hull, etc
  • Do you have all your required safety equipment?
  • Pay attention to your surroundings, watch for other water craft and swimmers
  • Please don’t combine boating with alcohol
